Ballet
(Level criteria)
It is the foundation of all dance. Students are highly encouraged to study it first or along with other dance styles. Ballet is required for all DXT members. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Required attire: black leotard, pink tights, and ballet shoes. Hair in secured bun.
Creative Movement
Learn and explore movement with artistry expression. Have fun with improvisation. Required attire: Comfortable clothing.
Hip Hop
Structured form of street dance often found in music videos. It is designed to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility and endurance. Required attire: Anything moveable and comfortable; tennis shoes, sneakers.
Jazz
It is a class that will learn different styles of jazz technique, incorporating leaps, turns and combinations within jazz movements. Required attire: Dance wear, tights and jazz shoes, hair to be secured off face.
Leaps & Turns
Define your technical ability in leaps and turns. Ballet and Flexibility are an important ingredient. Required attire: Any style leotard, tights or jazz shoes, hair pulled back.
Lyrical
(Level criteria)
Combination of ballet and jazz technique. It is more expressive in nature, relating to the spirit, nature, joy, and freedom of the individual dancer. Required attire: Any style leotard, tights or leggings; lyrical shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes or bare feet.
Performance
Competition students will develop and increase their stage performance ability through music and movement. Required attire: Dance clothing and shoes.
Power Stretch
Technique and stretching class that concentrates on flexibility, muscle strengthening, and core work. Pilates is introduced. Required attire: Any style leotard, tights or jazz shoes, hair pulled back
Tap
(Level criteria)
Develops rhythm, musicality, and coordination. Dancers will practice rhythmic patterns and combination with tap shoes. Required attire: Dance clothes that are moveable and comfortable, tap shoes and tights or socks.
Tumble
(Level criteria)
Prepare and define skills for your dancing. This class is structured for the dancer. It is individually designed to help each child develop at their own pace. Mat/tumbling work only. Required attire: Leotard, no shirts. bare feet or tumbling shoes, hair tightly secured out of face
